This Winter, INOVATO Prepared This Irrigation Equipment Freeze-Proofing Guide For You!

title

I. Close The Head Water Equipment

Stop injecting water into the impounding reservoir or other impounding equipment, open the outlet valve, and drain the water. So, no water gets into the pump house.

II. Drain The Main Pipe in The Pump House

Open the reserved drain valve in the pump house and drain the standing water of the main pipe from a lower position.

III. Drain The Facilities in The Pump House

The water pump:

To avoid the freezing of standing water damaging the pump and pipe network system, drain the water pump after its disuse.

The filters:

1. Grit filter: open the tank bonnet and the drain valve at the bottom, and drain empty the water. Check the thickness of the quartz sand, please compliment the sand if not enough to avoid bad influence on the quality of filtration. Please clean it if there are impurities on the sand bed.

2. Disc filter: first clean the disc filter elements, clean the filter inside, and second dry the plug seal with a soft cloth and reposit. Check the wear of discs, dry and assemble them if with no need for replacement.

3. Centrifugal filter: open the drain contamination valve on the side of the sand tank, and clean the sediment in the tank with water until it drains clean water. Drain empty the water in the tank in winter to avoid a freeze.

The fertilizer system: please close the water pump when maintaining. Open the fertilizer injection hole connected to the main pipe, and open the water inlet as well to relieve pressure. If the fertilizer applicator is a fertilizer inject pump with a plastic fertilizer tank: first use clean water to clean the tank and open it to dry. Second, wash the fertilizer inject pump, disassemble the pump according to the related illustration, and open the water drain to drain water. Third, maintain the pump by lubricating oil, drying up each element, and assembling them.

IV. Drain The Main Pipe in The Filed

Open the water drain reserved at low-lying areas in the field and drain the water in the main pipe. If there is no drainage channel in low-lying areas, use a small pump to pump the water into the canal.

V. Drain The Solenoid Valve

Please be aware to maintain all kinds of sprinkler system valves after draining the water in the pipe. Because the sprinkler solenoid valve has a complicated structure, it is not easy to drain water completely, which may freeze the valve when it is set outdoors without insulation measures. Please operate it according to the following steps:

111. Please keep these globe valve and gate valve open (twist the rotary switch to “open” manually) after draining the water in the pipe, to avoid the freezing of standing water damaging the valve.

2. Valves placed outdoors should wrap antifreeze materials.

3. Valves placed in cold damaged serious areas should demount the valve body and dry inside up after draining the water in the pipe if no insulation is measured.

4. Blunt percussion or hit are forbidden, to avoid bursting and deformation.

5. Please install these valves in good weather, and do not install them in icy weather, to avoid ice in the pipe will have a bad influence on the performance of the valve. If the valve is not urgently needed, try to avoid installation in winter. We usually recommend our clients install valves from March to October.
